Redlands Concludes Spring Season on Day Two of the NCAA Track & Field Championships

The University of Redlands' spring season officially came to a close on Friday, as the final two Bulldogs competed at the 2021 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Senior Hannah Albrecht (Cottage Grove, OR) gave it her all in the final competition of the season by completing the Heptathlon with 3,516 points for 18th place.  During Friday's events, she reached a mark of 16' ½" in the Long Jump before registering a Javelin Throw of 78' 6".  Unfortunately, an injury prohibited her from finishing the 800 Meters.

In addition, senior Andrea Lyon (Danville, CA) ran in heat two of the 400 Meters' preliminaries, completing the lap in 57.59 for 15th place.  This was a two-spot rise from her seeding of 17th in her national meet debut but leaves her out of Saturday's final.

Overall, the Bulldog women's track & field team persevered through a pandemic-challenged season by capturing the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championship, winning multiple conference awards, and earning numerous All-Region nods.
