The University of Redlands track & field team shined at the NAU Tune-Up last weekend. With a pair of excellent performances, junior Brenna Dolen (Redlands, CA) jumped her way to the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Field Athlete of the Week award for the women, while senior Maliq Champion (Beaumont, CA) sprinted his way to the Conference's Track Athlete of the Week for the men.
Dolen earned a gold-medal finish in the Triple Jump in a field of 23 competitors. Dolen set the standard in the Triple Jump with a leap of 37' 9 ½", one foot further than any other competitor.
Champion represented the Bulldogs as the only Division III competitor with a third-place finish in the 200 Meter Dash with a time of 21.97. His time is currently tied for the second-fastest time in the Division.
