Bulldogs Sweep SCIAC Weekly Awards for Men's Track & Field

The University of Redlands received five Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) athletes of the week for stellar achievements during the week of March 11. The Bulldog men's track & field team earned two of them, as senior sprinter Luke Bohlinger (Mercer Island, WA) was named the Track Athlete of the Week and senior thrower Matthew Hayashi (Hacienda Heights, CA) became the Field Athlete of the Week.

Bohlinger gains this weekly honor for the second time this season, following his award from two weeks ago.  This time, Bohlinger earns the honor for his solid performance at the Redlands Invitational.  He won the 100 Meters with a time of 10.80, which places him third among all Division III runners this season.  He also finished second in the 200 Meters by clocking a time of 21.62 as the top Division III runner in the race at the meet.

Hayashi finished second in the Discus Throw with a toss of 130' 2" and added a third-place mark in the Hammer Throw with a career-best 148' 1".  He also took fourth in the Shot Put with a heave of 46' 3 ¾" and now ranks 16th in Division III in the event.
