Bulldogs Put Together Solid Outing at Oxy Distance Carnival Spring Break Classic

The University of Redlands track & field teams competed in the Oxy Distance Carnival Spring Break Classic on Friday evening amidst rain and cooler temperature at Bill Henry Track in Eagle Rock.  The Bulldogs garnered a handful of career- and season-best marks, with others making their debut in certain events.

Junior Jessika Snincsak (Rancho Cucamonga, CA) impressed with her career-best time of 18:44.77 in her 5000 Meters, which bettered her personal standard by 35 seconds.

Sophomore Kaylee Jorgensen (Claremont, CA) posted a season-best time of 2:20.60 in the 800 Meters to finish among the top 20, while junior Carolyn Demaree (Portland, OR) fired off a career-best time of 2:32.67.

Sophomore Emily Guthormsen (Half Moon Bay, CA) competed in the 1500 Meters for the first time this year and improved upon her previous fastest mark by completing the race in 5:06.57.

Senior Lauren Roberts (Portland, OR) and freshman Emily Dabrow (Santa Ana, CA) represented Redlands in the 10K, earning respective times of 37:15.70 and 41:19.67.  For Dabrow, this was her collegiate debut in the event.

For the men's highlights, sophomore Sean Unger (Carlsbad, CA) posted a career-best time of 4:11.55 in the 1500, while senior Nathan Meier (Riverside, CA) took 19th in the 3000 Steeplechase with his mark of 10:08.84.

The Bulldog track & field teams look forward to competing at home on Ashel Cunningham Track for the first time this season when they host the Redlands Invitational on Friday, March 18, at 3:30 p.m.
