Scarano Takes Third Off 1-Meter Board for Career-Best Finish on Day One of Diving Regionals

Senior diver Sami Scarano (Boulder, CO) competed in day one of the 2020 NCAA Diving Regionals held at Trinity University in San Antonio, TX on Friday afternoon.

Scarano impressed off the 1-meter board for a third-place showing with a score of 385.50, only two-and-a-half points behind second, but a sizeable, 19.3 points in front of fourth.

She completed her fourth trip to Regionals off the 1-meter board with her best score and highest finish of her career.

Scarano recently took the top spot off the 1-meter dive at the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships with a score of 422.80. She also was named SCIAC Diver of the Year after being named conference diver of the week six times this season.

Scarano returns to Hixon Natatorium tomorrow, Saturday, February 29, for the 3-meter dive competition.
