The University of Redlands men's and women's swimming & diving programs gained recognition from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as Scholar All-America teams for the 2019 spring semester, as announced by the organization earlier today.  In order to qualify, a team must own a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher through the most recent semester and maintain a roster of 12 or more student-athletes.

Redlands joins more than 480 institutions across the country to receive this honor, including 185 women's and 134 men's programs from NCAA Division III.

Under the direction of Head Coach Leslie Whittemore, 32 Bulldog women combined efforts for a team GPA of 3.45, while 28 men registered a mark of 3.09 during the spring semester.  In addition, the Redlands swimming & diving teams earned this distinction in the fall for a complete year of academic excellence.

Overall, the nine-member Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) gained the honor in eight women's swimming & diving teams and seven of the men's.  In addition to Redlands, Cal Lutheran University, Caltech, Chapman University, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, Occidental College, and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges all received the awards for men and women.
