Redlands Divers Represent at SCIAC Championships with Solid Scores

The University of Redlands divers continued Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships action at Pomona-Pitzer Colleges on Sunday with the men competing on the one-meter board and the women taking to the three-meter.

Junior Jacob Miner (Antioch, CA) scored 478.10 during the preliminaries to advance to the final of the one-meter competition.  He registered a fourth-place score of 455.30 in a fine effort.

Sophomore Max Spiegel (Englewood, CO) improved his preliminary score of 366.60 by nearly 30 points to finish seventh in the final.

The women saw first-year Erica Schickerling (Arlington Heights, CA) gain solid experience on the three-meter board with her preliminary score of 280.60 for 14th place.  In addition, junior Sami Scarano (Boulder, CO) scored 358.50 points to qualify seventh for the final.  She elevated her total to 371.20 to take seventh overall.

Redlands looks forward to serving as host of the SCIAC Swimming Championships, which take place at the Brenda Villa Aquatic Center on Thursday, February 21, through Sunday, February 24.
