Redlands Swimming & Diving Falls to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in SCIAC Competition

The University of Redlands swimming & diving teams traveled to Pomona-Pitzer Colleges for Saturday's Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) showdown.  Despite winning six events and recording 21 additional top-three finishes, the Bulldogs each recorded losses to the Sagehens.  The women fell by an 88-154 decision, while the men came up short in a 71-168 tally.

Senior Jessica Kolsky (Red Wing, MN) shined for the Bulldogs by taking first on the one-meter board with a score of 226.70.  She also finished second in the three-meter competition with a total of 203.25.

Senior Ellie Jaques (Covina, CA) excelled in her events by capturing a pair of first-place finishes.  She won the 200 Free with a time of 1:57.73, before touching the wall ahead of all competition in the 200 Breast with a time of 2:27.37.

Junior Claire Stuhr (Portland, OR) also recorded a first-place time for the Bulldogs in the 200 Fly by touching the wall in 2:19.28. 

For the men, freshman Jacob Miner (Antioch, CA) took home a pair of first-place medals on the boards, earning a score of 221.70 on the one-meter and a total of 196.30 on the three-meter.  Senior Miko Mallari (Palo Alto, CA) added a second-place performance on the three-meter board with a score of 176.85.

Freshman Michael Talag (Lakewood, CA) and sophomore Joe Widuch (Naperville, IL) represented the Bulldogs among the top-three finishers in the 50 Free, with respective times of 22.20 and 22.25.

Furthermore, the 200 Free Relay of sophomore Aaron Bauer (Garden Grove, CA), Talag, freshman Matt Skinner (Lakewood, CA), and Widuch uncorked a time 1:28.66 to finish second.

The Bulldogs look forward to traveling to the UPS Logger Invitational on December 2-4 in Tacoma, WA.
