Ellie Jaques Scores Second Honorable Mention All-America Nod with Record-Setting Performance

Junior swimmer Ellie Jaques (Covina, CA) capped off her first-ever NCAA Championship appearance on Thursday by uncorking another school-record time at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, NC.  During the preliminaries of the 400 Individual Medley, she bettered her own University of Redlands standard by touching the wall in 4:29.61 for 15th place to advance to the evening's consolation finals.

Jaques returned to the pool for her final swim of the season, finishing 16th overall with a time of 4:33.23.

With her top-16 finishes in today's 400 IM and yesterday's 200 IM, she becomes an Honorable Mention All-American.

She also competed in the 100 Fly on Thursday morning, posting a prelim time of 57.63 to tie for 29th.

Jaques served as the Bulldogs' sole representative at the NCAA Division III Championships in 2016, joining a long list of Redlands' national competitors since the early 1990s.
