Lukes Competes for U of R Swimming on Final Day of NCAA Championships

On the final day of the 2014 NCAA Division III Championships, junior Chandra Lukes (Escondido, CA) of the University of Redlands women's swim team finished her third trip in as many years to nationals with a solid performance in the 100 Free.  In addition, the Bulldog men did not compete on Saturday at the IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis, having already completed all of their races during the previous three days.

While competing in her final event of the 2014 NCAA Championships, Lukes uncorked a swift time of 52.79 in the 100 Free, finishing in 30th overall amongst the stiff competition.

After all was said and done, with Lukes' performances throughout the course of the week, the Bulldog women finished tied for 37th place, while with both junior Jeff Depew (Naperville, IL) and senior David Ortyn (Bainbridge Island, WA) competing for the men, Redlands took 18th overall on the men's side.

The U of R completed the 2013-14 campaign with one individual national championship, four All-America accolades, and one Honorable-Mention All-America laurel.
