Sophomore Jasen Swan Tabbed SCIAC Men's Water Polo Defensive Athlete of the Week

The University of Redlands men's water polo team garnered one of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) weekly honors for the first time this season. After helping his team to a 5-0 performance, sophomore utility player Jasen Swan (Glendora, CA) earned the Men's Water Polo Defensive Athlete of the Week for October 1-7.

Swan was a pillar in the Redlands defense with five blocks, three steals, and one drawn exclusion during the team's undefeated week that included four wins over NCAA Division III schools.  In particular, his tenacious efforts made a huge impact on the team's 9-8 win over Chapman University and 5-4 effort against Fordham State (NY)

The Bulldogs (9-10, 3-1 SCIAC) take to the road on Wednesday, October 10, to face Pomona-Pitzer Colleges at 5 p.m.

Swan is one of three Redlands student-athletes to garner this week's honor, as he joins sophomore quarterback Nathan Martinez (Redlands, CA) and senior men's soccer standout Kayvon Parsa (West Hills, CA) among the selections.
