The No. 20 University of Redlands men's tennis team hit the road on Friday to face the top-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges Stags in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) showdown.  The Bulldogs fell short of the upset in a 1-8 decision for their first conference loss of the season.

In singles, senior Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) knocked off his No. 1 counterpart in impressive fashion, 6-2, 6-2, to secure the Bulldogs' only point.

Sophomore Brysl Libao (Redlands, CA) and junior Brad Cummins (Rancho Mirage, CA) put together the closest doubles result at the No. 1 slot but faltered by a score of 6-8.

Redlands (11-4, 3-1 SCIAC) faces a quick turnaround by hosting the Whittier College Poets on Saturday, April 13, at 10 a.m. on Verdieck Courts.
