The University of Redlands men's tennis team lost, 0-4, against NCAA Division II opponent and 11th-ranked Azusa Pacific University on the road in an exhibition match on Saturday. While competing under no-ad scoring and first-to-four rules with the doubles counting as just one point, the Bulldogs gained a unique challenge in the meeting.

Kicking off the day in doubles action, junior Brad Cummins (Rancho Mirage, CA) and sophomore Brysl Libao (Redlands, CA) earned a big 6-3 win on the No. 1 court to tie it up at 1-1. But the Cougars eventually earned the point with their 6-3 showing at No. 2.

The Maroon and Gray battled in singles but APU picked up the three wins it needed to secure their fourth point and the match victory.

Junior Andrew Leahy (Claremont, CA) took four games in the second set on the No. 2 court, while first-year Andrew Yip (Honolulu, HI) also picked up four games but in the first set at No. 6 singles. Although their matches did not count towards the total score, Cummins battled in his second set by playing to a score of 5-5 before the match concluded. Libao was leading his second set, 3-2.

Redlands (0-1) continues non-conference action at home on Wednesday, March 6, against the University of Mary Washington at 1 p.m.
