The No. 13 University of Redlands men's tennis squared off against the sixth-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges in Friday's Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) showdown on Verdieck Courts.  While competing with a limited roster, the Bulldogs valiantly battled against the Stags but came up short in a 2-7 decision.

The Maroon and Gray showed grit and heart in the doubles matches but entered the singles competition with a 0-4 deficit.

The Stags continued to take care of business and quickly secured the overall victory with wins at Nos. 3 and 5.

Nonetheless, junior Chase Lipscomb (Irvine, CA) rallied back to put Redlands on the board by defeating his No. 1 counterpart, 1-6, 7-6(4), 10-6.  First-year Cameron Krimbill (Scottsdale, AZ) also overcame a first-set loss to capture a victory at the No. 2 spot, 3-6, 6-4, 10-4.

The Bulldogs (8-6, 1-2 SCIAC) head to Chapman University on Saturday, April 7, for a 10 a.m. match against the Panthers before returning home that day for a 4 p.m. tilt against the Caltech Beavers.
