Sophomore Peyton Menti Claims SCIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week Honors

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) office named its weekly award winners and sophomore defender Peyton Menti (Seattle, WA) earned the men's soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week accolades for the first time in his career.

Menti scored two goals in a 2-0 week for the Bulldogs en route to clinching the second seed in the upcoming SCIAC Postseason Tournament. He began the week by scoring the insurance goal to put the game away in a 3-1 victory over the University of La Verne on Wednesday. He followed up his performance up with another goal against Pomona-Pitzer while also limiting the Sagehens to just five shots in a 3-0 shutout on Saturday. Menti helps anchor the backline that only allowed three shots on goal over the week and allows a low 0.90 goals-against average for the season.
