Fantastic Five Represents Redlands Men's Soccer on All-Conference Teams

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced earlier today that the University of Redlands men's soccer team landed five players among the All-Conference teams. Senior forward Kayvon Parsa (West Hills, CA), senior midfielder Arman Mogharei (Haywards, CA), and senior defender Joey Kenney (Portland, OR) made the First Team, while junior forward Antony Chonga (San Diego, CA) and senior defender Nick DeQuiroz (San Jose, CA) collected Second-Team honors.

Parsa becomes a four-time All-Conference honoree with the third First-Team award of his career.  With career-highs in goals (12) and points (26) this season, he ranks first among the Bulldogs and second in the SCIAC for each category.  His clutch play has led to a conference-best, six game-winners, including those on the road against Occidental College and Cal Lutheran University.

As a vocal leader and versatile competitor, Mogharei secures his second First-Team nod in as many years. After scoring only one goal during the previous three seasons, Mogharei caught fire in 2018 by registering a career-high four goals to go along with two assists for 10 points in 13 SCIAC games played. Two of these goals served as the game-winners in each of the Bulldogs' 1-0 victories over Chapman.

Kenney earns the inaugural All-Conference award of his four-year career with this season's spot on the First Team.  While starting in all 14 SCIAC games, he has provided a towering presence on both ends of the field.  Defensively, he has contributed to the team's five shutouts and 0.90 goals-against average.  He also notched a goal in the team's 3-0 victory against the University of La Verne.

Chonga lands on the Second Team for back-to-back All-SCIAC honors in his third season with the Bulldogs. While starting in 13 SCIAC games, he knocked in four goals and dished out three assists to amass 11 points. His second game-winner of the season came in the Bulldogs' 4-3, come-from-behind victory over Occidental.

As a starter in all 14 SCIAC games, DeQuiroz receives his inaugural All-Conference award with a spot on the Second Team. In addition to big tackles and defensive stops, he served as an offensive playmaker with four assists, three of which came in consecutive games.  Earlier this season, he scored his first-ever goal as a Bulldog, which came in the home win over La Verne.
