Senior Kayvon Parsa Reels in Second SCIAC Offensive Athlete of the Week Award for Men's Soccer

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the weekly awards for October 1-7 and senior forward Kayvon Parsa (West Hills, CA) was selected as the Men's Soccer Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second time this season.

Last week, Parsa wreaked havoc on the opposing team's defense with all five goals in the Bulldogs' wins against Whittier College and UC Santa Cruz. In the 2-1 victory over the Poets, Parsa found the back of the net on two penalty kicks, including the game-winner in the 75th minute.  He stepped up his performance in the next game against in-region foe, UC Santa Cruz, with his second career hat trick in only 32:01 minutes of action to help the team to a 3-0 shutout.  He found the back of the net twice by the 12-minute mark against the Slugs.

Parsa currently leads the conference in goals with nine. He also sits second in points with 18, which is just one behind the leader.

The Bulldogs (8-3, 6-2 SCIAC) return to SCIAC action with a road game against Chapman University on Wednesday, October 10, at 4 p.m. in Orange.

Parsa is one of three Redlands student-athletes to garner this week's honor, as he joins sophomore quarterback Nathan Martinez (Redlands, CA) and sophomore men's water polo player Jasen Swan (Glendora, CA) among the sport-specific selections.
