The University of Redlands men's golf team traveled to Prescott, AZ for the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Invitational on October 7 and 8 to close out the fall season. Led by senior Cameron Cooper (Seattle, WA), the Bulldogs finished with a three-round total of 881 and fourth place out of nine teams.
Cooper completed the 54 holes shooting a 216 (74-73-69). Despite tying-for-10th over the first two rounds, Cooper regrouped to come out stronger with a low score of 69 to finish in tied-for-fifth place. He also led the field on par fives shooting seven-under for a 4.22 average and recorded an awesome 11 birdies.
First-year Joshua Fambro (Taos, NM) followed in tied-for-14th place. He totaled 225 (72-80-73) over the three rounds. Fambro also impressed amongst the competition, shooting one-under on par three holes for a 2.92 average.
Just one stroke behind, senior Dylan Merchant (Ellsworth, WI) finished tied-for-17th. He remained consistent over the three rounds with scores of 73, 77, and 76 for a 226 total. Merchant tallied nine birdies at the tournament.
Sophomore Kyle Sharp (Austin, TX) rounded out the Maroon and Gray golfers, improving each day with a total score of 227 (79-77-71). He registered eight birdies.
Redlands jumps back into action on February 3 and 4 at the California State University-San Marcos Fujikura Invitational. The tournament will take place at Shadowridge Golf Course in Vista, CA.
