No. 9 Redlands Men's Golf Remains in 16th Place at NCAA Championships

The No. 9 University of Redlands men's golf team maintained its 16th-place position on day three of the NCAA Division III Championships after shooting a 313 on Thursday afternoon in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Junior Jake Hollander (Peterborough, NH) continues to pace the Bulldogs with a tally of 230 through three rounds, while as a team, the Maroon and Gray combine for 931 strokes.

On the heels of two birdies on the back nine for a 77, Hollander climbed 10 spots on the individual leaderboard to join a seven-way tie for 44th.

In his best round of the tournament, senior Alex Stroes (San Marcos, CA) fired off a 77 to move up 42 spots into a five-way tie for 70th. Stroes made par on 10 holes and also knocked in a pair of birdies.

Joining Stroes in the tie, first-year Kyle Sharp (Austin, TX) scored a 79 for a total of 235 strokes to climb up 19 spots in 70th. He was consistent throughout the day with 13 pars, including even marks on five consecutive holes on the back nine.

Junior Cameron Cooper (Seattle, WA) shot a score of 80 on day three to make a 33-spot jump into a tie for 79th, while senior Cade Lawson (Lake Oswego, OR) finished the round with a score of 87 in a tie for 88th.

Redlands competes in the final round of the national tournament on Friday, May 17, beginning at 9:20 a.m. EDT.
