Redlands Men's Golf Opens 2017-18 Season with Third-Place Finish at ERAU Co-Ed Invitational

The University of Redlands men's golf team opened the fall portion of the 2017-18 campaign with a third-place showing at the ERAU Co-Ed Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Antelope Hills North Course in Prescott, AZ.  By improving as a team each round, the Bulldogs completed their first tournament of the year with a total of 894, which came off of scores of 309-294-291.

Junior Cade Lawson (Lake Oswego, OR) paced the Maroon and Gray with an impressive score of 214 over the three rounds.  After beginning the event with a 79, he settled into a nice rhythm that allowed him to fire off scores of 68 and 67 to finish third out of 56 competitors.

Sophomore Jake Hollander (Peterborough, NH) tied for 10th by registering a 54-hole tally of 222, with his best round coming on the final day at 72, while junior Alex Stroes (San Marcos, CA) closely followed in 15th place with his consistent scores of 75-76-63 for a 224.

Sophomore Cameron Cooper (Seattle, WA) and senior George Galanis (Chicago, IL) each entered the clubhouse with a 226 to tie for 16th place.   Cooper notched the lowest round of the duo during Monday's final 18 holes when he signed his scorecard with a 72.

Finally, sophomore Diego Cortes (Santiago, Chile) completed the Bulldog crew with his tied-for-29th-place finish as a result of improving each round to earn a 230 (81-77-72).

Redlands heads to the Cal State Northridge Cullum Invitational on Monday, October 16, and Tuesday, October 17, at the Wood Ranch Golf Course in Simi Valley.
