The No. 1 University of Redlands men's golf team competed in day two of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships on Monday at the Oak Valley Golf Course in Beaumont. The men experienced minor speed bumps throughout their second 18 holes, recording a 300 to drop into third place in the tournament standings with an overall score of 593.

Although the Bulldogs sit 13 strokes behind the leaders from the University of La Verne, they remain in front of the championship hunt, as determined by the lowest aggregate score of all seven conference rounds. Redlands entered the SCIAC Championship Tournament with a 30-stroke lead and now sits 17 strokes ahead of the Leopards with one round remaining.

Senior Bobby Holden (Simi Valley, CA) led the way for the Bulldogs by finishing Monday's round with a two-over-par 74. Despite undergoing a shaky front-nine, the veteran finished the day with three birdies and five pars on the back nine to place him second overall with a 36-hole total of 141.

Junior Ryan Turner (Ventura, CA) remained consistent during day two by shooting a 75, which included four birdies and eight pars, to land him tied for eighth place overall at 149.

Junior John McCord (Oakland, CA) matched Turner's round with a 75 of his own after two birdies on the front nine and a consistent showing of seven pars on the back nine to slot him tied for 17th overall. McCord was the only Bulldog to improve upon his opening 18 holes, as she shaved off two strokes from Sunday's total.

Senior Anthony Estes (San Pedro, CA) continued to impress by finishing with a day-two total of 76 by notching four birdies and nine pars. After a rough showing on hole No. 2, Estes recovered by knocking in two-consecutive birdies on the 16th and 17th holes to keep him in the top-15 in the individual standings. Currently, he is tied for 13th overall with a 36-hole total of 151.

In addition, freshmen Jake Ryan (Portland, OR) and Joseph Kuehn (Eugene, OR) recorded respective rounds of 79 and 85 to complete the Bulldogs' scorecard.

Redlands finishes out the final round of the SCIAC Championships on Tuesday, April 28, at Oak Valley. The Bulldogs' first group goes off at 9:10 a.m.
