SCIAC Men's Basketball Weekly Release No. 9
REDLANDS, Calif. - The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced their Men's Basketball Athletes of the Week in the ninth week of voting and University of Redlands sophomore guard Khyree Armstead (Mountlake Terrace, WA) was selected as the SCIAC Defensive Athlete of the Week for the first time this season.
Armstead continued to widen his lead in the SCIAC steals race with another seven over a pair of victories at mid-table Chapman University and against California Lutheran University. He pulled down 15 rebounds (nine on the defensive glass) and dished out nine assists against five turnovers while adding 10.0 points per game as the Bulldogs remain the only unbeaten team in conference play.
Redlands who currently holds a six-game winning streak and an unblemished record in conference returns to the court tomorrow, Wednesday, January 18 at 7:00pm when they take on No. 15 Claremont-M-S beginning at 7:00pm inside Currier Gym.
