REDLANDS, Calif. – The University of Redlands Men's Basketball team hit the 100-point plateau for the first time this season as they dominated Willamette University 110-58 inside Currier Gym.

The Bulldogs stretch their winning streak to three games as they improve to 3-1, while the Bearcats drop to 2-3.

Fifteen players saw the court and all recorded at least one point in the win.  Four players hit double digits led by Robert Power (Pacific Palisades, CA) who poured in 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting in just 13 minutes.  Nathaniel Johnson (Seattle, WA) recorded a double double with 11 points and ten rebounds and was joined by first year Lucas Gordon (San Marcos, CA) who also had his first career double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds to go with a pair of blocks.

Neil Owens (Pasadena, CA) chipped in with 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting and Cameron Brown (Bakersfield, CA), Elo Oti (Los Angeles, CA), and Khyree Armstead (Mountlake Terrace, WA) all combined for 24 points with Oti playing his first minutes on the season adding a 3-for-5 effort with a pair of three-pointers and four boards.  Nathan Anderson (Los Angeles, CA) who returned from injury made his presence felt in limited action totaling six points and three blocks in just four minutes.

It was a rocky start for Willamette University falling behind 10-2 in the first three minutes.  Johnson put up six of those points converting on two lay-ins and knocking down a jumper, which gave Redlands a lead they would not relinquish.  The Bearcats tried to stay close at the midway point of the half finding their range with a triple that made it a two-possession game, 16-10.  But a 20-3 run would put the game out of reach.  During this run the Maroon and Grey knocked down five three-pointers, four of which came all in a row thanks to Owens, Colin McCarthy (Redwood City, CA), and Josh Himel (Jacksonville, FL).

This pushed the lead to double digits, 36-13 and despite the offensive effort put forth by Willamette the Bulldogs had an answer taking a 56-29 lead into the break.  The second half proved the same with the Bearcats adding another 29 points, while giving up 54 to UR.  A 15-2 run started the second period off for Redlands capped off with Himel and Brown going back to back from deep.  This made it a 40-point game and the Bulldogs continued to roll after that providing a late 10-2 effort that put the game out of reach.

The Bulldogs dominated on both ends of the floor shooting 46.4% from the field, 52.2% from deep and 58.8% from the free-throw line.  They outrebounded the Bearcats 65-31 with 25 coming on the offensive end.  They also forced 24 turnovers and turned them into 33 points.  The battle in the paint was also won by UR 38-16 along with second chance points (18-4), and bench points 76-34.

Redlands has a short turnaround as they welcome in George Fox University tomorrow, Saturday, November 26 beginning at 7:00pm.
