David Lord assumed the role of Recruiting Coordinator on July 1, 2021, which adds to his responsibilities as Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach, which he began in 2016.  He previously coached with the Bulldogs from 2009 to 2011, working directly with the offensive line and as the team’s recruiting coordinator.  

Previously, Lord served as the Offensive Line Coach at Millsaps College, which is an NCAA Division III school in Jackson, Mississippi.  During the 2013 season, the Millsaps offensive line allowed only seven sacks to rank 14th in the nation and help the offense to surpass 2,000 rushing yards. In the previous season, the Millsaps offensive line allowed only six sacks to sit seventh in the nation and enable the offense to run for more than 1,400 yards.

While at Redlands, Lord contributed to the Bulldog offense that rushed for more than 1,000 yards, with his O-line allowing only six sacks in the entire season, which was ranked first in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) and 13th in the nation.  This helped the team to achieve an 8-1 record and a second-place finish in the conference.

He also completed his Master of Arts in Higher Education during his time with the Bulldogs.

From 2005 to 2007, Lord was an Assistant Football Coach at Jurupa Valley High School in California. There he was part of a rushing attack that was ranked Top-50 in the nation and a top five in California.

Lord started out his collegiate football career as a redshirt freshman at San Jose State University in2004 and then transferred to play for Coach Bill Brown at Riverside Community College in 2005. While at RCC, Lord shined as one of the team’s top offensive linemen, leading the team to a share of the Mission Conference American Division Championship in 2005. He then transferred back into NCAA Division I in 2007, completing his Bachelor of Science in Sociology at Northern Arizona University while playing offensive lineman for the Lumberjacks.
