After more than 10 years of experience with the Bulldog football program, Jim Good was named the head coach in July 2021.  He had served as the Associate Head Coach since 2012 while maintaining his responsibilities of Offensive Coordinator, Quarterbacks Coach, and Recruiting Coordinator, which began the previous year.  In his first season at the helm, he led the team to the SCIAC Championship and an NCAA bid while heading up the SCIAC Coaching Staff of the Year.

Since Good's arrival, the Bulldogs have won three Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) championships, finished second five times, and advanced to the NCAA Championships on four occasions.  Among the team’s many accolades, Redlands has produced six quarterbacks, six running backs, and eight wide receivers who have garnered All-SCIAC selections with his oversight of the offense.

During the 2022 season the Bulldogs got off to a slow start, beginnng the season 1-5. The Bulldogs then won two-straight, including a 27-24 come-from-behind, overtime win at home against eventual SCIAC Champions Pomona-Pitzer. Despite the struggles of a 4-6 season, they did throw the eighth fewest interceptions with only seven picks.

In 2021, Redlands won the SCIAC Championship following a perfect 6-0 conference record. They finished 8-2 overall following a first-round loss in the NCAA Playoffs. The Bulldogs scored the sixth most points (360) and the third most touchdowns (48) in a single-season.

In 2019, the Bulldogs reset their own scoring record with 445 points, which included 51 touchdowns and 4,576 yards of total offense for the second-most in school history in each category.

Good arrived at Redlands after a four-year stint as the head coach at Hamline University in Saint Paul, Minnesota. While overseeing the squad, he led the Pipers to their best finish since the 1997 season and increased the roster size by 30 players. In addition, Good played an instrumental role in improving the team's overall GPA, revealing his commitment to the Division III student-athlete experience.

In addition, this member of the American Football Coaches Association brings significant coaching experience from his time at Texas Lutheran University, Illinois College, and Linfield College (OR).

While at Texas Lutheran, he served as the associate head coach with responsibilities as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. During his final three seasons, the TLU offense finished as high as 10th in the nation in passing offense while breaking school records in various offensive categories. In his first season as the offensive coordinator, the team finished with a 7-3 record, which was the most wins in over 20 years.

He garnered similar success at Illinois College, helping players reset the school's single-season passing and rushing records.

This Washington native completed his Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Science at Oregon State University after earning a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from Linfield. While competing for the Wildcat football team, this four-year letter-winner garnered all-conference honors as a senior running back.

Outside of coaching, Good enjoys fishing, reading, biking, and spending time with his family, which includes his wife, Robyn, and two children.
