A familiar face to Bulldog football, Skip Fazio rejoined the University of Redlands coaching staff just prior to the 2017 season and currently works with the safeties.  But he originally served as the Bulldogs’ defensive coordinator from 2005 to 2009.  Since then he continued coaching at Ramona High School to expand on his more than 30 years of football experience.  Before coming to Redlands, Fazio worked as the defensive coordinator/linebacker coach at Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges. He also spent 23 years as the defensive coordinator at Fontana High School before taking the same position at San Bernardino Valley College for two years.  Aside from coaching, Fazio has spent many years in the classroom as a teacher.

Originally from Tacoma, WA, Fazio started his college career at Oregon State University in 1971 and moved onto Chaffey College for a one-year stint before playing his final two seasons at Chico State University. He graduated from Chico State in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science and later earned his Master of Arts in Education with an emphasis in physical education in 1981 from Azusa Pacific University. Fazio has hopes of one day becoming a head football coach at the Division III level.

In his spare time, Fazio enjoys boating, astronomy, and visiting with his family.  This member of the American Football Coaches Association loves the process of coaching football and working with young people. He and his wife, Sally, have an adult son named Vinny, who is also a football coach and Bulldog alum.
