It was announced earlier today by the NCAA that the University of Redlands football team has drawn the No. 1/3 University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (TX) Crusaders in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championships on Saturday, November 19, at noon Central Time in Belton, TX. The Bulldogs punched their ticket to the postseason for the eighth time under Head Coach Mike Maynard after winning the 12th Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) championship in his tenure and 30th overall.
The Bulldogs capped off an undefeated run through conference competition by defeating the Cal Lutheran University Kingsmen in yesterday's regular-season finale by a score of 34-30. It was Redlands' fourth-straight win over CLU in the teams' annual Smudge Pot showdown.
Redlands is riding an eight-game win streak that began with the Bulldogs' 31-22 win over George Fox University (OR) on September 17.
Saturday's game marks the fifth meeting since 2011 between Redlands and Mary Hardin-Baylor, with the Crusaders holding the advantage thus far.
The UMHB Crusaders enter the NCAA Championships with a 10-0 record after capturing the American Southwest Conference title for the 12th consecutive time and 14th overall in the 19-year history of the football program. It also completed their sixth-straight undefeated regular season in the last seven years. By gaining an at-large bid to the postseason, the Cru makes their 13th-straight appearance and 15th in the last 16 years.

Online ticket sales for Saturday's game will go live on Thursday. Advance tickets are $10 for reserved seats, $8 for general admission, and $4 for students. On Saturday, reserved seats will cost $12, general admission will be $10, and student tickets are $4. The ticket windows at Cru Stadium will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
