Senior Shortstop Aaron Singh Tabbed as Honorable Mention Member of D3baseball.com Preseason All-America Teams

It was announced earlier today that senior shortstop Aaron Singh (Anaheim, CA) of the University of Redlands received Honorable Mention as a member of the 2019 D3baseball.com Preseason All-America Teams.  He is the sole representative of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) to make the 42-player list.

As a junior, Singh played in all 46 games during the Bulldogs' conference co-championship season that culminated in a trip to the NCAA West Regional Tournament.  He served as a rock-solid infielder, a reliable bat, and a speedy base-runner throughout the campaign. Defensively, he shored up the shortstop position while tallying 65 putouts and 150 assists en route to a .982 fielding percentage. His quickness and accuracy allowed him to contribute to 29 double-plays.  At the plate, Singh ranked second on the team with 61 hits, as highlighted by 21 doubles, five triples, and three home runs.  In addition, he amassed a slugging percentage of .587.  His speedy base-running helped him cross the plate on 48 occasions while also swiping 18 bases.  He answered the call at the plate with 33 RBI.

On the heels of his stellar season, Singh landed on the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-America Second Team, the ABCA/Rawlings All-West Region First Team, and the D3baseball.com All-West Region First Team.  Finally, he was selected as the NCAA Division III Gold Glove Shortstop by the ABCA.

Redlands begins its season by hosting a tripleheader against Pacific University (OR), beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 2, and continuing on Sunday, February 3.
