Hannah Jugar and Kyle Sharp Impress with Third Selection as the SCIAC Golfers of the Week

For the third time this season, University of Redlands' sophomore Hannah Jugar (Chula Vista, CA) and junior Kyle Sharp (Laguna Beach, CA) have been named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Golf Athletes of the Week.  While capturing individual medalist honors, they led their respective teams to the top of the leaderboard during the SCIAC Tournament No. 2 at Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon on Saturday and Sunday.

Competing for the No. 1 team in the nation, Jugar finished at minus one over 36 holes, improving her opening score of 76 to a 71 for a one-shot lead in the win.  She bested all competitors on the par threes with an average score of 2.88 for minus one while also tapping in the most birdies on the weekend with nine.

Sharp won the men's event for the No. 24 University of Redlands with a two-day tally of 145, which came off rounds of 75 and 70 for minus two.  He finished the tournament with a three-shot lead over sophomore teammate Joshua Fambro (Taos, NM) and a seven-shot advantage over the top non-Redlands golfer.  He led all players with a minus-one average of 3.95 on the par fours and tapped in seven birdies to tie for the most at the event. During Sunday's round, he earned an eagle on the par-four seventh hole.

The Bulldog men and women look forward to competing in the SCIAC Golf Championships on Sunday, April 25, through Tuesday, April 27, at Los Serranos Golf Club in Chino Hills.
